6th Annual Banquet

Posted by

Yeshiva Ketana’s 6th Annual Scholarship Banquet took place on Tuesday, March 13th at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Baruch Hashem it was a huge success and a tremendous Kiddush Hashem. Approximately 250 people came out in support of the Yeshiva and in recognition of the Honorees. The décor was beautiful, the food was delicious and it seemed as if our guests just did not want to leave.

As in the past, we held a raffle at the event that completely sold out. The Grand Prize was two tickets to Eretz Yisroel. Parents (and grandparents) were given magnetic pictures of their children. All of our guests took home beautiful hexagon tea candleholders to tie in with the Banquet’s 6th Anniversary theme.

We are so grateful to our parent body, staff and to the entire community who came out in support of the Yeshiva and its students. We are continually amazed and inspired by their dedication to Yeshiva Ketana.

Thank you to the many individuals who organized every detail of the event and executed it to perfection. Their efforts on behalf of Yeshiva Ketana are a large part of our success and they inspire us to keep on building!

Mommy & Me Play Date

Posted by

On Sunday, May 27th, Yeshiva Ketana’s Pre-School hosted over 30 mothers and their incoming preschool children for its annual Mommy & Me Play date. This is a unique event allowing the incoming Pre-School children to get a glimpse into their future as a “preschooler”. The mothers also have the opportunity to mingle and set-up summer play dates for their children.
The children enjoyed our outdoor classroom, equipped with a water table, sand play, bubbles, play-dough, building blocks and a larger than life art easel. They also snacked on health and delicious fresh fruit.
As part of our ongoing effort to successfully acclimate the students before the school year begins, the Morahs are looking forward to meeting the children during their home visits in August.
Stay tuned for another update as the Kindergarten classes walk over to the Elementary School on June 15th to get their first glimpse into Pre-1a.

Pre-School Daddy Day

Posted by

On November 23rd, the Pre-School hosted the fathers for “Take your Daddy to School Day.” The children and staff enthusiastically greeted the fathers for a morning of fun and exploration. They proudly showed off their Picasso-like paintings, explored their classrooms and experienced the outdoor classroom together with their fathers. Everyone enjoyed the contagious simcha, and it was a great opportunity for the often-busy fathers to participate in a fun school activity with their children.

The grandparents were treated to a delicious breakfast buffet put together by the PTA while enjoying the inspiring 3rd and 4th grade boys choir at the Elementary School. Both the Pre-School and Elementary School classrooms were opened to our guests who created beautiful crafts and did enjoyable activities with the children. We look forward to another exceptional Grandparents Day next year!

Haschalas Mishnayos Seuda

Posted by

On Sunday, February 4th, Yeshiva Ketana’s 3rd Grade boys class formally began learning Mishnayos. They marked this milestone with a festive breakfast Seuda prepared by the PTA for the boys, their fathers and even some grandfathers. We were privileged to be addressed by Rabbi Dr. Chaim Wakslak, Rav of Young Israel of Long Beach, NY and grandfather of two of our 3rd graders. Rabbi Wakslak illustrated the significance of Limud HaTorah, even for children. The boys learned the first Mishna of Maseches Brachos together and then joined the guests in spirited dancing.
We hope that the children will remember this day for years to come, as they continue their journey to becoming Bnei Torah!
